Kellie’s Slimdown: Day 5

I’ll be honest. I’m having trouble drinking enough water. I must make a better effort at that. Regular, sugary soft drinks have never been my thing, but there was a time when I was addicted to my favorite diet soft drink. In fact, it wasn’t too terribly long ago that I was drinking NOTHING but that diet soft drink. I figured water was in the list of ingredients on the side of the can, so I was still getting SOME water in my diet. But I didn’t realize the damage I was doing until my kidneys started hurting. That’s when I decided to give up my diet soft drinks for 30 days, and it was CRAZY difficult. And now, I may have one or two a day. Sometimes I’ll even go a day or two without having one at all.

 

Didn’t make it to the farmer’s market, but I made it to the produce section of the grocery store! I’m going to go cook up some squash, zucchini, Brussels sprouts and spring onions — exactly the stuff I’ve been craving. I also made a big pot of chili that I can eat for a few days. I used 93% lean ground beef, a whole onion chopped up, a can of tomatoes, a can of red kidney beans, a can of corn, a can of mushrooms and a jar of tomato sauce. Pretty good stuff!
